"Hey Siri" may be a thing of the past, according to Internet reports that Apple plans to change the way its voice assistant wakes up

Siri as a voice assistant in Apple products, users just need to say "hey Siri" wake up, you can use it to find information, make calls, send information, get directions, play music, find Apple devices and so on. However, Mark Gurman revealed in the latest "Power On" newsletter that Apple is making massive improvements to Siri, as part of the improvement, Apple will modify the voice assistant's wake-up mode, so that Siri can understand and respond to commands using a single word "Siri" as the trigger word, and users will not need to say "Hey, Siri ".

According to Mark Gurman, this seemingly simple function is actually a huge technical challenge involving a lot of AI training and underlying engineering modification, and product identification systems need to have more accurate, sensitive and rapid identification mechanisms, while also preventing misjudgment mechanisms. It would require Siri to be able to recognize the word "Siri" in a variety of different accents, rather than using "Hey Siri" to increase the recognition of wake words as it does now. It is worth mentioning that Apple has also integrated Siri with third-party apps to bring a better user experience, which means that users can control third-party apps by using a single word "Siri" in the future. Improvements to Siri are expected to roll out this year or next.

In addition to modifying the wake up method, Apple will also let Siri deeper integration with third-party applications, so as to bring a better user experience.

However, although as an Apple user, in fact, the use of Siri is not much, coupled with their own phone Siri wake up sensitivity is not high, usually shout "hey, Siri" can always wake up other people's Siri rather than their own Siri, over time, it is not much to use Siri. And the difference between "hey Siri" and "Siri" is one word, and one more word doesn't seem to matter much.

    Do you think that's necessary?
